Carn Brea Castle Restaurant

A stunning location - a real castle! No electricity so it’s eccentric and charming. The food is amazing: by far the best steak I’ve had eating out. We went for our anniversary and went back for my 50th birthday. Delighted both times. You have to pay cash as no electricity or internet for cards (plus phone reception is patchy) but worth it. A must visit restaurant. If you get a chance, check out the view from the roof too.

What a fantastic place! Visited here during our recent trip to Cornwall for our honeymoon. Phoned a few days in advance to reserve a table - very quick to do and told during the call to bring cash to pay as they don't have a card machine. The road leading up to the castle can be bumpy with big pot holes in places, but if you go slow there is no problem. Just adds to the experience. Parking area next to the castle and a few places further back on the road if this area is full. Fantastic views from the castle, even better if you can get onto the roof top terrace. Very cool inside with old stone walls, lit by candle light, moss on the walls with quirky stair case, fireplaces etc. Good service, always coming to check if everything is ok and if we needed any drink top ups. Food was amazing. Highly recommend the garlic naan, garlic mushrooms, peppercorn steak and the chocolate brownie. Will definitely return when we are next in the area.

Definitely a meal we won’t forget anytime soon, in a very special setting! Highly recommend booking in advance and making sure you drive there with an SUV or leave the car at the bottom of the hill!

Absolutely brilliant experience here. Stumbled across the castle when out exploring. Booked a table for a few days later. Everything was perfect - the food, service and atmosphere. It was a beautiful evening so we enjoyed popping up to the roof terrace to see the sunset. Highly recommend!

I was really pleasantly surprised by this place, took the family up more as a novelty but it was great. The food is a bit pricey but you can't heat a big stone castle like that for free. Very pleasant, helpful waitress, very nice food and totally unique venue. Definitely recommend

Loved every bit of the experience. The only let down was when ordering a, glass of wine a, little plastic bottle of wine was produced. I would have preferred from a large bottle and more selection of wines. But everything else lovely. I will be back, thank you

What a fantastic find! The venue could be classed as novel, to say the least but don’t let that worry you. The food is incredible. Perfectly cooked Middle Eastern flavours (honestly one of the tastiest steaks I have ever had). Brilliant, friendly service and all by candlelight setting in a beautiful castle. Highly recommend trying this place out! TIP: They make it very clear when you book but for avoidance of any doubt, they are Cash only.

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, great service with friendly staff, amazing views. They allow you to go up to the rooftop terrace, and if you book a table for the evening you can catch some amazing sunset views.
